Dissolving to identify a substance

Properties of matter help us identify substances. For example, in the picture above you see how salt and sugar dissolve in water. Using that a reference we can definitely say that Cup A is neither salt nor sugar. We know that cup B contains sugar, because   gfiuef.vjsdbv. We also know that cup C conatains salt becausek c.kjhf;oihvjknaf;oihew'ofih. On the other hand, cup A lkchnjabchfenkcoiewhkjcbliuehf;jdnc.kjahfoiaehf.nad;oiwafhfjn;iuewfyfanihyfaewhroiehnffkhf;in.dkshc;oiwfk.jwbkurwf.ihweoifn.ewfjwnc;osufdhkjwbfiewuyfewn.  Since the contents of cup A do not dissolve the same as the contents in the salt and sugar cups, we can conclude that cup A is neither salt nor surgar.
